Career History in Football Agent

Season Archive, player records, and Empire Builder / Dynasty capacity

Career History — Football Agent

Football Agent entered Steam Early Access on 25 August 2026 as a single-player career from ATERO GAMES. The pitch is huge — 44 countries, 115 leagues, 1,900 clubs, 47,500 players — and a long save is the point. After a decade of windows the mind forgets which cup a client actually lifted and whether an academy graduate ever received the extra roster slot you thought you had paid for. Two tools now keep the record honest: Season Archive and Player Career History. A third change, quieter and more commercial, finally makes two masteries do what their text promised: Empire Builder and Dynasty grant +2 player capacity everywhere, including academy graduates who used to miss the bonus.

This page is for people who intend to stay. If you are still hunting the first commission, park it and come back. If you are building a ten-season house, these tabs are how you stop arguing with your own memory.

Season Archive (My Career)

Season Archive is a new tab inside My Career. When a campaign closes, the game now writes a permanent line for:

  • individual awards your clients won,
  • league champions in the countries you care about,
  • cup winners that used to vanish into the news feed.

The archive is not a screenshot folder. It is the club-season memory of the save. Use it when a board claims they “always win” and you need to see whether they actually did. Use it when a rival agent name-drops a trophy your client never received. Use it when you are pricing a veteran and need to know if last year’s medal was real or a rumour you invented at 2 a.m.

Because leagues span 44 countries, you will not remember every champion. You should not try. Open the archive at the end of each season the way you open the ledger: once, slowly, with a note of which of your names appear. That list is the reputation you will spend next summer.

Player Career History (Career tab)

On a player file, the Career tab now stores a season-by-season strip:

  • matches played,
  • goals,
  • assists,
  • match rating,
  • overall rating (OVR).

This is the spine of client development. Minutes in the match engine are no longer a feeling; they are a column. A player you “thought was starting” who shows 11 matches and a sinking OVR is not unlucky — he is a loan candidate, a mandate candidate, or a broken promise you need to admit before morale collapses.

Read the Career tab before you sell. A spike in goals with a falling rating can mean a tap-in merchant on a dying team. A flat goal column with a rising OVR can mean a midfielder the world market has not priced yet. After the 27 August fee caps, those distinctions matter: you will not be rescued by a cartoonish transfer. The history tab is how you argue for a realistic fee with evidence instead of vibes.

It also catches academy graduates. A youngster who left your books in the interface but still sits in the club’s youth side will show minutes (or the lack of them) here. If Empire Builder or Dynasty is on your mastery tree, confirm that the extra capacity actually absorbed that graduate instead of hiding him in a void the old bug created.

Empire Builder and Dynasty: +2 capacity that finally applies

Two masteries — Empire Builder and Dynasty — are supposed to raise how many players you can hold. In practice the bonus was invisible or broken for academy graduates: the text promised +2, the roster did not grow where those names lived. That is fixed. Both masteries now grant +2 player capacity everywhere.

“Everywhere” is the word that matters. The bonus is not a headquarters-only illusion. It applies to the lists you actually use: senior clients, youth you intend to keep, graduates who would otherwise force a cut you did not want to make. If you took those masteries in an older save, open the roster and count. If the +2 was missing, it should now be present; if a graduate still will not attach, that is a placement problem, not a hidden cap.

Capacity is not a vanity number. Weekly costs scale with the people you carry. Extra slots let you keep a late bloomer through a dry year, or hold a mandate target until the board that asked for him still has budget in the following season. They also let you oversign into bankruptcy if you treat +2 as permission to ignore the economy. Pair the mastery with the growth guide: how to grow your agency is where staff wages meet roster size.

Why this matters for long saves

A three-season run can live in your head. A fifteen-season run cannot. Season Archive is how cups stay true. The Career tab is how minutes stay true. The mastery fix is how the academy stays true. Together they stop three classic long-save lies:

  1. “We won that cup” — check the archive.
  2. “He played every week” — check matches and rating.
  3. “The graduate should fit” — check capacity after Empire Builder or Dynasty.

Long saves also collide with the rebuilt world market. Clubs carry spending forward; mega transfers are the exception. A client’s Career tab is often the only honest argument you have when a board says the fee is fantasy. Archive plus history is how you stay a serious agent after the novelty of Early Access wears off.

For tone and what is still rough, the Early Access review sits beside this page. For what changed on 27 August — archive, history, masteries, market, events — keep the patch notes open in another tab when you resume an old file.

Long saves used to blur. After a decade of windows the mind forgets which cup a client actually won and whether that academy graduate ever received the extra roster slot you paid for. Season Archive and the Career tab exist so the record is not a rumour. Check them after every campaign, especially if Empire Builder or Dynasty sits on your mastery tree — the +2 capacity is only useful if you notice it filling with the right names.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Where do I find Season Archive?

Inside My Career, as a new tab. Awards, league champions, and cup winners are written there permanently when a season closes. It is not the news feed and it does not reset when you skip a month of matches.

What does the Career tab on a player file show?

A season-by-season line of matches, goals, assists, match rating, and overall rating (OVR). Use it to verify minutes before you sell, loan, or promise playing time you cannot see in the match engine alone.

What was wrong with Empire Builder and Dynasty?

The +2 player capacity was invisible or did not apply to academy graduates. Both masteries now grant +2 capacity everywhere, including those graduates. Count the roster after the patch if you already owned the masteries.

Do I need these tabs in the first season?

You can survive without staring at them. You cannot run a long save without them. Open Season Archive at each season’s end and the Career tab before every sale; that habit is cheaper than arguing with a board from memory.

How does this interact with matches and development?

The match engine produces the minutes and ratings; the Career tab stores them. Development guides tell you what to do when the column looks wrong — loan, mandate, or a honest conversation about broken playing-time promises.
