Football Agent System Requirements

Official Steam requirements and community performance notes

Last updated:

Football Agent is a single-player agency career from ATERO GAMES in Steam Early Access. The client is a menu-heavy simulation with a 2D match engine, not a 3D stadium renderer. That design is why the official Steam sheet asks for integrated graphics and a gigabyte of free space rather than a discrete GPU. This page records the published minimum and recommended specs, what they mean on a laptop, how large the install really is, which platforms Steam lists, and which accessibility flags the store page advertises.

If you want a verdict on the Early Access build rather than hardware, use the Early Access review. If you already own the game and need a first-week path, start with getting started. Match-engine behaviour is covered on matches. Short buyer questions also sit in the review FAQ.

Official minimum requirements

Steam lists these as the floor:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Dual-core 2.0 GHz (Intel Core i3 or AMD equivalent)
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Integrated graphics (Intel HD 520 or equivalent)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 1 GB available space

A dual-core 2.0 GHz i3-class chip and 4 GB of RAM describe an office laptop from the mid-2010s more than a gaming tower. Intel HD 520 shipped with Skylake notebooks. If that chipset can still drive Windows 10, it is the kind of machine ATERO GAMES is targeting at the low end. DirectX 11 is the graphics path at this tier. You do not need a gaming overlay, a ray-tracing preset, or a second video card.

Steam lists these as the comfort line:

  • OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Quad-core 2.5 GHz (Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent)
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Integrated graphics (Intel Iris Xe or equivalent or better)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 1 GB available space
  • Additional notes: 1920×1080 resolution for best layout

The jump from minimum to recommended is not a GPU generation. It is extra cores, extra RAM, a newer integrated chip (Iris Xe), DirectX 12, and Windows 11. The 1920×1080 note is a layout hint: agency panels, inbox, and match view are designed for a full-HD canvas. Playing at 1366×768 will run; menus will feel cramped, and you will spend more time scrolling the same mail you could have read at a glance.

What the 2D match engine actually costs

Football Agent simulates client matches in a 2D top-down engine with live text commentary. You do not set tactics. You watch, skip, or sim to the result. That loop is light on fill rate and shaders. Community reports from the first days of Early Access describe smooth frame times on integrated graphics at the recommended resolution. A dedicated GPU is not required. A machine that already runs a spreadsheet and a browser will usually run this career.

Early Access still means bugs: match-engine quirks, event-popup edge cases, and translation labels appeared in day-one notes. Players did not report a pattern of crashes or save corruption. Several hotfixes landed in the first forty-eight hours; later notes are on the patch notes page. Hardware is not the usual bottleneck. If the client stutters, close background browsers before you assume you need a new chip.

Storage versus the 1 GB line

Steam’s requirement sheet asks for 1 GB of free space. The actual download is about 146 MB. The on-disk footprint after install is about 388 MB. Both numbers sit well under the 1 GB line. Keep the extra headroom for the Windows page file, shader caches, and future patches. This remains one of the lighter sports simulations on the store. Do not budget a hundred gigabytes because other football titles do. Budget a quiet SSD slice and move on.

Windows only

Football Agent is a Windows title. SteamDB and the store configuration list no Mac or Linux depot. Proton, Wine, or a virtual machine is unsupported and untested here. If you only have a Mac or a Linux box, this page is a stop sign, not a workaround. Steam Deck is a Linux handheld; there is no official native build to point at.

Steam Family Sharing is listed, so another library in the same household Steam family can share the title subject to Steam’s usual sharing rules: one play session at a time, and the owner reclaiming the licence if they start the game. That is a store flag, not a second operating system.

Accessibility and Steam flags

The store page marks four flags that match a click-heavy agency sim:

  • Save Anytime — you can save when you choose. The career does not lock you into a checkpoint chain or a timed mission you cannot pause.
  • Playable without Timed Input — there are no quick-time events and no twitch clock. Negotiations, scouting, and mail wait for you.
  • Adjustable Text Size — UI text can be enlarged. That matters on a 1080p laptop you sit close to, and on a 4K monitor where default UI can look small.
  • Family Sharing — as above, a household library can share the licence under Steam’s rules.

Those flags describe the pace of the product. You pause. You read. You answer mail. The 2D match can be skipped if you do not want to watch. None of that changes the OS line: it is still Windows 10 64-bit at minimum and Windows 11 in the recommended column.

Practical buying advice

Buy for the CPU and RAM floor, not for a graphics card. 8 GB and a quad-core 2.5 GHz i5-class chip with Iris Xe (or any discrete GPU you already own) is the comfortable seat. 4 GB and a dual-core 2.0 GHz i3 with HD 520 is the “it will boot” seat: expect slower alt-tab, tighter multitasking, and a stronger reason to close the browser. Use 1920×1080 if you can. DirectX 11 is the minimum path; DirectX 12 is the recommended path on Windows 11.

Re-check the Steam page after large patches. Early Access can grow the database; the 146 MB download and 388 MB on-disk pair is current to late August 2026 community notes, not a promise for version 1.0.

If this machine check is a yes, the next useful page is getting started rather than another spec table. If it is a no, wait for a Windows 10 64-bit box that meets the dual-core 2.0 GHz and 4 GB line — not for a Mac build that does not exist.

A sports sim that lists Intel HD 520 as acceptable graphics is describing a 2D office, not a stadium renderer. Football Agent wants a quiet 64-bit Windows box, a 1920×1080 layout, and a few hundred megabytes of disk — not a new graphics card. If the laptop already survives a workday of mail and spreadsheets, the remaining question is whether you want to run an agency, not whether you need to queue a GPU upgrade.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Does Football Agent require a dedicated GPU?

No. Official requirements specify integrated graphics. Players have confirmed the career runs on laptops with no discrete GPU, including Intel HD 520 at minimum and Intel Iris Xe at the recommended tier.

How large is the download and the install?

The download is about 146 MB. The on-disk footprint is about 388 MB. Steam still lists 1 GB of free space so Windows, caches, and later patches have room.

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

No. Football Agent is Windows only according to SteamDB and the store configuration. There is no Mac or Linux depot to install.

Why does Steam mention 1920×1080?

It is a layout note, not a GPU demand. Agency panels, inbox, and the 2D match view are designed for a full-HD canvas. Lower resolutions run; they feel cramped.

Can I use Steam Family Sharing, and can I save whenever I want?

Family Sharing is listed, subject to Steam's usual one-session household rules. Save Anytime is also listed: the career does not lock you into a checkpoint chain. Playable without Timed Input and Adjustable Text Size are listed as well.
